It's true that not everyone needs 8,000 Hz polling from their hardware, especially wireless hardware where the extra polling rate negatively impacts battery life. However, the Wolverine V3 Pro seems to add that as simply an added bonus, because it rocks in pretty much every other regard too.

Great build quality? Check. TMR thumbsticks to do away with stick drift? Check. Customizable functions and buttons? Check. Spare thumbsticks to swap the feel and a carry case? Also yes. It might be an expensive controller, but you can't say that Razer hasn't pulled out all the stops to make the best high-end controller on the market.

Just last year, we gave the controller a whopping 93%, saying, "Razer has somehow improved on one of the best games controllers available, making this the product to beat."

I spoke to our Harvey, who has stolen the office Wolverine V3 Pro 8K, and they told me, "The Wolverine 8k is so nice to use, I've barely noticed it: frictionlessly helping me through an intense playthrough of Onimusha: Way of the Sword without so much as a complaint or misinput. Plus it's got so many extra buttons I've been tempted to betray my keyboard in FF14, and very well may do so when Evercold comes around and I've got to relearn all my rotations, anyway."

One thing worth noting, though, is that 8,000 Hz polling drains the battery, so it's only really worth using if you think you will actually see the benefit. If not, the 20 hours of charge at 1,000 Hz are plenty, and it still performs incredibly well at that otherwise solid polling rate.
