That's the message Rockstar Games just delivered on Thursday when they announced the full reveal for Grand Theft Auto 6 would happen on August 27 on Netflix. In case you're wondering if that has ever happened before in the history of gaming, no it hasn't. That's how big of a deal this game has become.

Netflix is known for its attraction to huge, tentpole events like Major League Baseball's Home Run Derby, the opening game of the NFL season, Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson and Anthony Joshua. MVP MMA's show headlined by Ronda Rousey. If it is a singular event and it is on Netflix, it is a big deal. Let's talk GTA 6.

A Netflix subscription is not the only way in. The Extended Look premieres on Netflix at 3 p.m. ET, then goes live on Rockstar’s YouTube channel and the official Grand Theft Auto VI site six hours later at 9 p.m. ET. Rockstar has not said how long the presentation runs or what footage it contains. Needless to say, hopes are high for all the info GTA fans have been waiting years to hear and see.
