Warning: Spoilers for Baldur's Gate 3 lie ahead.

Shagging Astarion in Baldur's Gate 3 might say various things about your taste in blokes, but it's understandably the way a lot of folks go. Not everyone's got the nerve to admit that they want to cast some spells with Gale's other wand. Anyway, a veteran BG3 modder's now come to the aid of those who reckon one of the white-haired fang lad's endings concludes a bit too abruptly for their liking, and without enough final hugs.

Having restored a tonne of cut content to Larian's RPG earlier this year, modder HyperspaceTowel's recently added their own extra cutscene to Astarion's spawn ending as part on an ongoing modathon.

As you can see demoed below, 'Follow Astarion - New Endgame Cutscene' ensures that by opting to have the rogue remain a vampire spawn as part of his companion quest, they don't end up having the game end with him running off in fear of the sun and the player character not giving chase. You know, as my might expect them to if they've spent their whole adventure romancing Astarion.

With the mod installed, they instead seek out Neil Newbstarion in the shade behind some crates and share a wordless hug of support with him. It's a small tweak, but as the comments on both the mod and demo video give away, something that's been bothering the horde of Astarion enjoyers for ages. "You have to be in a relationship with Astarion and physically present on the docks at the end to get the cutscene," HyperspaceTowel specified, outlining that it won't play if the ending you pick revolves around you heading off somewhere different.

The new cutscene also works with 'Astarion Docks Narration Unlocked', one of HyperspaceTowel's previous works which ensures the narrator will have something to say about the established docks encounter tied to spawn Astarion even if you've got other companions about to opine.

It's been really cool to see BG3 modders spend plenty of time with the game's modding tools to further flesh out Larian's companion arcs without resorting to an AI-voiced bollocks. See modder Magnetuning's revamp of Wyll's quest for another great example from earlier this year.
