Avatar Nation, rise up: Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender is getting a physical release. Paramount Plus and Alliance Home Entertainment announced that the film is coming to DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD. Pre-orders are available now.
The film arrived on Paramount Plus on July 24, 2026, to a largely positive reception from fans and critics — it has a 90% critic score and a 99% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. However, even with widespread praise, the movie's release was marred by unfortunate circumstances. In one of the biggest Hollywood leaks in a long time, the entire film was uploaded to X this April after a reported hack.
While Paramount had previously said the movie would launch exclusively on its streaming service, many hoped the leak would push the company to release it theatrically, offering a unique experience compared to watching at home. Unfortunately, the movie only received an extremely limited run in select theaters. At least Paramount is now doing right by the film with a physical release, something that isn’t a given for straight-to-streaming movies. Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender will be released for Blu-ray and DVD on Nov. 3, 2026, and for 4K Ultra HD on Feb. 9, 2027.

On top of Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender and the excellent Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, there’s also a new Avatar TV series coming to Paramount Plus next month. Avatar: Seven Havens is a sequel to The Legend of Korra that will follow Avatar Pavi, a young Earthbender living in a post-apocalyptic era. The show premieres on Oct. 9, 2026, and has been ordered for two seasons of 13 episodes each. After such a long dry spell (The Legend of Korra finished in 2014), 2026 has delivered a much-needed Avatar revival.
