Alex Warren is facing a conundrum that many pop singers have battled in the past, but one that most musicians would be lucky to experience. He scored the hit of a lifetime with “Ordinary,” which dropped in early 2025. The tune turned him into a radio favorite and something of an industry darling, and it proved that TikTok influencers can cross over and find true, massive commercial success in the traditional music industry.
“Ordinary” powered Warren’s debut album, You’ll Be Alright, Kid, which also featured several additional hit songs. Throughout 2026, Warren has been pushing tunes from his forthcoming sophomore set, Wildchild. Three singles have already been shared from the project — “Fever Dream,” “Fine Place to Die” and “Passenger” — but none of them have reached the same heights as “Ordinary.” That is due in part to the fact that Americans are still enamored with the syrupy-sweet love song.
“Ordinary” remains present on multiple Billboard charts, and it even manages to rule one more than a year and a half after the Grammy nominee first shared it. As the smash holds atop a radio tally, Warren moves up on an all-time ranking and makes history yet again.
Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” Holds at No. 1 Again
Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” is steady at No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart, one of three pop-focused radio rankings published by Billboard, alongside the Pop Airplay and Adult Pop Airplay tallies. “Ordinary” has now spent 36 of its 61 weeks on the rundown in first place. Most hits are lucky to reach double-digit turns at No. 1, let alone several dozen.

“Ordinary” Passes The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights”
With another frame in charge, “Ordinary” breaks out of a tie with The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights.” That smash spent 35 weeks running the show beginning in November 2020. Just last period, the two tracks were tied as the fourth-longest-running No. 1s in the history of the Adult Contemporary chart.
Alex Warren Matches Maroon 5’s Chart Record
“Ordinary” is now matched with another pop blockbuster. Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You” spent 36 weeks atop the Adult Contemporary chart beginning in November 2018. The two singles jointly rank as the third-longest-running rulers of all time, but perhaps not for long.
Miley Cyrus and Teddy Swims Beat Alex Warren
“Flowers” by Miley Cyrus is far and away the longest-running No. 1 in the history of the Adult Contemporary chart. Beginning in the spring of 2023, the Grammy-winning smash spent 57 weeks in the penthouse. It is the only tune to rule the roster for more than a year.
The following summer, Teddy Swims almost joined Cyrus in that club. His breakout hit “Lose Control” dominated for 49 weeks, which is the second-longest reign the ranking has ever seen.
“Ordinary” Remains a Top 20 Hit on Four Billboard Charts
“Ordinary” appears on four Billboard charts at the moment, and a year and a half after its release, it remains a top 20 smash on each and every one of them. As it holds steady on the Adult Contemporary ranking, the track climbs on the other three tallies.

Warren’s biggest hit sits at No. 15 on both the Streaming Songs chart and the Billboard Global 200. It comes in one space lower, at No. 16, on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. ranking. The first of those two worldwide lists measures sales and streaming activity from around the globe, while the latter uses the same data, but removes all consumption originating in the United States.
Alex Warren Claims Two Adult Contemporary Hits
Warren has racked up four hits throughout his career on the Adult Contemporary chart, and two of them appear on the 30-space rundown this week. His recent drop “Fever Dream” holds at No. 29, standing at its all-time high. Throughout the month it has spent on the list, the tune has never climbed any higher.
“Fever Dream” is tied with “On My Mind,” Warren’s collaboration with Blackpink singer Rosé, which spent one frame at No. 29. Earlier this year, his Jelly Roll team-up “Bloodline” surged to No. 23, though it only managed three turns on the rundown.
“Ordinary” Dominates Alex Warren’s Chart History
“Ordinary” has spent more time at No. 1 than all of Warren’s other Adult Contemporary hits have spent anywhere on the chart combined – multiplied several times over. Already one of the longest-ruling winners in the ranking’s history, the single may continue to run the show for weeks — or even months — to come.
